University Press Approves Basque Book Series The University of Nevada Press has formally approved publication of a book series dealing with Basque subjects. Robert Laxalt, Director of the University Press, reports that a proposal for a Basque Book Series was discussed at a meeting of the Press editorial board in Las Vegas. The proposal was prepared by Dr. William Douglass, Director of the Basque Studies Program. The Basque series will include English translations of books published in Europe and dealing generally with Basque history, culture, folklore and language. Original works stemming from research activities into Basque history and way of life in the United States will also be included. Press Director Laxalt said plans tentatively call for a series of hardcover books of the same size and format. The series will be made available to the general public, libraries and universities. |
