A Book of the Basques

by Rodney Gallop

The Basque Book Series of the University of Nevada Press will become a reality shortly. The first publication is due out by December 1 of this year. The first selection is A Book of the Basques by the noted English folklorist Rodney Gallop. This book first appeared in England in 1930 and remains the best general study of the Basque people to appear to date in the English language. Gallop devotes chapters to Basque origins, prehistory, history, geography, literature, folk song and dance, art and architecture, and the Basque character.

A Book of the Basques is authoritative reading for the serious scholar yet its pleasant literary style makes it a thoroughly enjoyable experience for any reader. Copies of the book may be ordered directly from:

University of Nevada Press
University of Nevada
Reno, Nevada 89507

The cost (including postage and handling) is $7.00 per copy. Orders will be filled on December 1, 1970.
