Research Request

Anthropologist William Christian is writing a book about the apparitions of the Virgin Mary at Ezkioga (Gipuzkoa) between 1931-1934. He is interested in interviewing anyone who was present at Ezkioga during this period. There were also apparitions reported at this time in several other parts of the Basque Country including, for Gipuzkoa: Albiztur, Alza, Anoeta, Astigarraga, Ataun, Azcoitia, Beasain, Cegama, Fuenterrabia, Legorreta, Orma¡ztegi, Tolosa, Urnieta, Urretxua, Villafranca de Ordizia, and Zaldivia; and, for Navarra: Arbizu, Bacaicoa, Echarri-Aranaz, Huarte-Araquil, Irañeta, Irurzun, Iturmendi, Lacunza, Lizarraga, Mendigorría, Torrano, and Unanue. Dr. Christian would be interested in speaking with anyone with information about those events as well.

Those who are willing to help in this research should call Bill Christian at 310-458-9811 or Joseba Zulaika at 702-784-4854 and leave their name and telephone number, or write Bill Christian at the Getty Center (Scholar's Program), 401 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 400, Santa Monica, CA 90401-1455.
