Scholar Donald T. Garate has published an article entitled “Basque Names, Nobility, and Ethnicity on the Spanish Frontier” in the new journal Colonial Latin American Historical Review (CLAHR). Dr. Ulrich J. Lüders has completed a study (published on diskette) entitled Prinzipien morphologischer und syntaktischer Organisation im Suletinischen (Xiberotarra), einem baskischen Dialekt in Südwestfrankreich. The diskette (MS-DOS, Word 5.0, HPIII, 3.5") is part of the series Linguistic Data on Diskette Service and is available from LINCOM EUROPA, P.O. Box 1316, D-85703 Unterschleissheim/München, Germany. Archer B. Gilfillan’s Sheep: Life on the South Dakota Range was first published in 1929. This reprint of the personal, informative, entertaining account of the life of the western sheepherder includes an introduction by Richard W. Etulain, current director of the Center for the American West at the University of New Mexico. Alberto Elósegui has written the definitive work on Jesús de Galíndez, the Basque nationalist who was kidnapped in New York in 1956 and died in the hands of Dominican dictator Rafael L. Trujillo. El Verdadero Galíndez is written in Spanish by Elósegui, a native of Donosti-San Sebastián, who went into exile in the Americas. Elósegui has dedicated himself to publishing books prohibited in Spain, such as Steer’s The Tree of Gernika.
