USAC News 1993-94 Faculty Exchanges In 1993-94 affiliate universities took advantage of several faculty exchange opportunities with our foreign host universities in or adjacent to the Basque Country. During the spring 1994 term, Patricia OConnor went from the San Sebastián Program to teach at the University of Idaho. Ray Dacey from Idahos College of Business and Economics is teaching in Pau while Martine Duperrey from Pau is teaching at the University of Nevada, Reno. The University of Iowa was also involved in two exchanges. Gorka Ormazuri, a professor of the University of the Basque Country in San Sebastián, spent the fall 1993 semester at Iowa City while Tom Lewis from the University of Iowa Spanish and Comparative Literature Departments taught in San Sebastián. Ignacio Aldekoa of the University of the Basque Country is in Iowa City during the spring 1994 semester while Nora Gonzalez is teaching on the Chile Program. 1994-95 U.S. Faculty In September, the USAC Executive Committee chose the following USAC affiliate university faculty to teach on 1994-95 USAC programs. Michael Bixby, Professor, Legal Studies in Business, Boise State University, will be in San Sebastián, Spain, for the fall 1994 program. He will be teaching 1) The International Legal Environment of Business, and 2) The European Community: Laws, Structures and Issues. Laura Desfor Edles, Adjunct Professor of Sociology, Boise State University, will be in San Sebastián, Spain, for the summer 1994 June session. She will be teaching Basque and Spanish Culture. Ron Geilbert, Professor of Art, Wright State University, will be in St. Jean-de-Luz, France, for the summer 1994 program. He will be teaching Photography. Phoeby Lundy, Associate Professor of History, Boise State University, will be in Pau, France, for the fall 1994 program. She will be teaching: 1) History of European Witchcraft, and 2) European Social History/History of Western Civilization II. |
