Teresa Laxalt Memorial
Scholarship
The Teresa Laxalt Memorial Scholarship was awarded
this year to Cody Bengoa, a freshman at University of
Nevada, Reno. Congratulations, Cody!
The Teresa Laxalt Memorial Scholarship is awarded
annually to a Nevada resident of Basque descent attending
the University of Nevada. Along with Basque ethnicity, a
student must have a minimum GPA of 2.75 in order to apply.
The minimum GPA is a university
requirement.
Dolores Saval Trigero Scholarship
Awarded
The first Dolores Saval Trigero Scholarship has been
awarded to Maite M. Ugalde. We wish her all the best in her
studies!
This Scholarship is awarded to a student of Basque
descent who is full-time at the University of Nevada. The
student must demonstrate financial need and have a minimum
GPA of 2.75. Preference is given to students from rural
Nevada (excluding Reno/Sparks and Las Vegas). However, if no
suitable rural Nevada student of Basque descent is elegible,
students of Basque descent from Reno/Sparks and Las Vegas
may be awarded the scholarship, and if no Basque students
are eligible, other Nevada students are considered for the
award without regard to ethnicity.
