Basque Monument Benefits from Landscape Cleanup

The Monument to the Basque Sheepherder received a tidying-up last spring thanks to Tom Stille, landscape architect of Interpretive Gardens of Reno, and his students. About 35 people, including members of the Sierra Garden Cub, attended a pruning class given by Mr. Stille. The group pruned the twenty purple robe locust trees surrounding the monument, which is located at Rancho San Rafael Regional Park in Reno, and did general cleanup of the site.
