Xabier Gereño’s timeless classic for
studying the Basque language has been reviewed by the folks
at Audio Forum, famous for their self-study courses. The
course was originally created for Spanish speakers, but it
was translated into English and includes brief grammatical
explanations.
Part I provides vocabulary, basic sentences, and some
grammar in 40 lessons. Part II presents verb organizations
and declensions used in the lessons.
This book will be of special interest to those whose
families hail from Bizkaia, for Audio Forum tells us,
“the course is in the dialect of Bilbao.”
Learning Basque comes with two (2) cassettes for
learning pronunciation, a total of 2 1/4 hours of the spoken
