Teresa Laxalt Memorial Scholarship

We are pleased to announce Justina Caviglia as the winner of the 1998-99 Teresa Laxalt Memorial Scholarship. She will receive $1000 to help defray the costs of her education. Ms. Caviglia is a resident of Ely, Nevada and is currently a freshman at the University of Nevada-Reno. Her goal is to study biochemistry and eventually pursue a medical degree.

Dolores Saval Trigero Scholarship

The 1998-99 recipient of this award for students of Basque descent from rural Nevada is Mariluz Garcia. She will receive $600 to help with the cost of education at the University of Nevada-Reno where she is a freshman this fall, pursuing a degree in education. Ms. Garcia grew up in Elko, Nevada where she danced with the Elko Basque club’s Ariñak Dancers. Congratulations, Mariluz!
