Basque Online Courses Now Available

The Center for Basque Studies has committed to developing a series of online Basque Cultural Studies courses during the next two years, thanks in part to a grant from the Basque Government’s Department of Education. The first three of these courses are now available. Additional topics will include three more levels of Basque language, Basque film, literature, early Basque history, modern Basque history, Basques and European cultural history, gastronomy, the Basque diaspora, virtual Euskal Herria, economy, and cultural studies.
Professors committed to the development of these courses are Linda White, Gloria Totoricagüena, Jose Mallea, Marcelino Ugalde, Jaume Martí Olivella, Joseba Zulaika, Cameron Watson, Joseba Gabilondo, Esti Amorrortu, Mikel Gómez Uranga, Andoni Alonso, and Javier Echeverría. The courses will be offered in English, although the coursework can be done in Spanish and, in most cases, euskara as well.
