The Center for Basque Studies is committed to promoting an interest in Basque culture by occasionally supporting local concerts featuring Basque musicians. 


 

Oskar Espina Ruiz

 

In February of 2002, in cooperation with UNR's Music Department and the University Studies Abroad Consortium, we presented a free concert of Basque classical music by renowned clarinetist Oskar Espina Ruiz.

 

 

Alboka

 

In July of 2002, we featured Alboka, a Basque traditional folk music group. Support for this concert was provided by Nevada Arts Council / National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Reno Basque Club "Zazpiak Bat."
