In the American West, approximately 730 Basque Americans participate in organized Basque dance activities. In addition to performing at local Basque club events, many dance groups also travel to festivals sponsored by other Basque clubs throughout the summer. While dancing is one festival event among several others, it involves the greatest number of participants by far and appeals to a wide range of festival-goers.
